Two lawyers, two doctors, and an army officer walk into a Zoom meeting and make Bright the best digital social community in the world. The team’s education and diversity of experience have given us the tools to confront some of the toughest tech and social problems.
Hello, and welcome back! We are happy to be with you here as we approach the end of the summer.
We’ve often felt like the end of August drags on a little, as though there were forty or fifty days in the month. That may have been because we’re eager for what’s coming next -- the school year, big projects, new opportunities. But this year, although we’re very excited about the coming months, we’re also taking a deep breath and enjoying the waning days of August. Before you know it, it will be September and the mad dash through the end of the year will have begun, so we’re taking this moment to get ready for what comes next.
The last time we checked in, we told you about some new partnerships, and we’re excited to let you know that we have a new one to announce. Let us introduce you to Rewire, which has built a world-leading AI system for detecting and blocking extreme and harmful content. As we’ve always said, Bright is about building healthy and safe communities. Doing that is, certainly, about great content and engaged Members. But it also takes a team of dedicated content moderators to keep harmful or dangerous content off of your screen. Rewire’s tools not only detect harmful content and help us keep it isolated, they also help make content moderation faster, more efficient, and more effective. Our integration with Rewire will make everyone’s experience on Bright better.

We’re also excited to tell you that we’ve been selected to attend this year’s Web Summit as a featured startup. Three members of the team will head to Lisbon, meet others in the tech and social spaces, and showcase Bright’s unique approach to making social media safe, happy, and welcoming. We’ll be livetweeting the event at several points, and if you’re attending, let us know! We can't wait to meet as many people as possible.
Along those lines, we’ll be hosting a live Q&A session this Autumn to talk about Bright, the build, our partnerships, and everything else we have going on in the background. We love to connect with you and share what we're excited about. Look for pre-registration information in the weekly newsletter, our waitlist email or on our social channels in the next month.
Thanks, as always, for being a part of our community. Please do let us know what you’ve been up to over the summer, what your plans for the Autumn are, and what you’d like to see us chat about as we line up our interview and content for the next few months -- your contributions are always welcome. We are changing our weekly newsletter format to include monthly previews, interesting articles, and an opportunity from our newsletter subscribers to directly contribute to the conversation! Everyone on the team is looking forward to hearing from you soon -- have a great rest of the summer!
