I’m retired, a grandmother to five, I live in the United States in Wisconsin, and I’m married.
This cookie recipe is an old recipe of my grandmother’s. The cookies are chocolate, sprinkled with powdered sugar and look a little like snowflakes when they have finished baking. I have fond memories of eating these in my grandmother’s kitchen, freshly baked and still warm!
In a large bowl, sift together:
1 cup of plain flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
¼ teaspoon of salt
In a saucepan, melt together:

2 squares (around 57g or 2 ounces) of unsweetened chocolate
¼ cup of butter
In a small bowl, mix together:
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 eggs (beaten)
Combine all of the above in the large bowl and mix well. 1 cup of chopped walnuts may also be added.
Refrigerate for 4-5 hours or overnight.
Scoop tablespoons of dough, shape into balls and roll in powdered sugar.
Bake at 190 degrees Celsius for approximately 10 minutes.
